ROMÉO POIRIER & M. SAGE
Live in a Hayloft in Boulder County, Colorado
October 30th 2024 | 6pm - 8pm
October 30th 2024 | 6pm - 8pm
Brussels-based Roméo Poirier is working in the field of electronic music, focusing on heavy processing of samples and digital collage. He released albums on the London based record label Kit Records (Plage Arrière), the mancunian record label Sferic (Hotel Nota), and Jan Jelinek’s own imprint Faitiche (Living Room), transforming the layering of different times into a free-flowing pulse that sounds both nostalgic and mysteriously ahistorical.
For his first US/Canada tour, he will preview new sample and research-based material from the hidden realm of historical studio engineering.
M. Sage is a musician, artist, and educator living on Colorado’s Front Range. His albums on RVNG intl, Geographic North, Florabelle Records, and his own imprints Cached Media and the defunct Patient Sounds have placed him as a stalwart in the contemporary ambient, experimental, and exploratory electronic music communities.
Pete Swason of Yellow Swans and Freedom to Spend will be DJing before, between, and after.
For this very special event -- held in a 100 year old hayloft (photo above) in rural Boulder County, Colorado on October 30th -- Sage will open the evening with a performance for keyboards, electronics, and clarinet. Poirier’s set -- some of his first US performances -- will follow. Admission to the event includes warm apple cider, electric candle light, and a deeply exploratory sound adventure. It is recommended to bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on, and perhaps a layer to keep you warm in case the temperature drops. The venue is located west of Longmont, Colorado along St. Vrain Road. Parking is limited, so please carpool. BYOB but please be respectful of the space and your fellow gathering attendees.
The event has a max capacity of 50.
Purchase your ticket digitally to RSVP and please check in at the door.
